15 Free Scrubby Yarn Crochet Patterns

Since Red Heart has come out with their scrubby yarn, I’ve been obsessed with picking up skeins each time I go to the store. It’s easy to just pick up one skein at a time, because it doesn’t take much yarn to make one, and they always seem to be on the end cap. It’s like I walk by and they just end up falling into my cart. 🙂

Scrubby Yarn Crochet Patterns

I’ve loved finding patterns that people are creating with this yarn. From scrubby dish cloths to vegetable scrubbers, the possibilities are endless for kitchen and bathroom crochet projects.

Simple Round Dish Scrubby Pattern – Midwestern Moms
This simple dish scrubby pattern is the cream of the crop. I use these a lot for my pots and pans, and also have a few set aside to clean my sinks with. I like the use of the sparkle yarn in this one. These would make a great housewarming gift.

Handy Palm Scrubby – Red Heart
This scrubby pattern is created with a handle, making it easy to slip over your hand as you use. Sometimes they get a little slippery, so I really like this feature!

Wildflower Dish Scrubby – Little Monkeys Crochet
I’m in love with the color combinations in this dish scrubby. At 5 1/2 inches wide, this is a nice size also! However, it might be too pretty to use on greasy pots and pans. That just means I might have to make five. ha!

Flower Scrubbers – Snappy Tots
These flower dots are super cute, and the maker says that they took her less than 30 minutes each. I’m picturing making up some of these as I sit in front of the television.

Pineapple Scrubby – Rescued Paw Designs
This unique pineapple scrubby would be a great way to get the kids interested in dish time. I love the bright lemon color combined with the green. Red Heart has some amazing colors in this scrubby yarn for sure.

Veggie Washer – Red Heart
Now this is a pretty genius idea. Having a dedicated scrubby to wash your potatoes and carrots with. I’m constantly just doing this with my hands, however we all know that it takes forever, and you’re hands end up all sore from rubbing a potato. I’m definitely making one of these.

The Loopy Scrubby – Rich Textures Crochet
This pattern is gorgeous! I love how there is scrubby yarn only on one side, and the other is cotton. These would be so great for spring cleaning.

Quick and Thick Scrubby Sponge – Left in Knots
Scrubby yarn woven in blanket yarn to make a sponge to clean with. GENIUS! I’d never thought about using the blanket yarn in conjunction with this for cleaning, but it makes so much sense. Great pattern!

Carrot Vegetable Scrubby – Intertwined Art
Another vegetable scrubby pattern (because obviously I’m fascinated with these now) that wraps around your fingers for ease of use. Plus, it’s in the shape of a carrot. How cute is that?

Chevron Dish Scrubby Pattern – Cre8tion Crochet
I am digging the colors on this dishcloth, along with the size. I think I could cover a lot of surface area with this one, cutting down the time. The chevron pattern is really cute also.

Snowflake Scrubby Motif – Kristyn Crochets
I like how she shows the pattern both with and without the scrubby yarn in this post. Sometimes when you are working with this yarn for the first time, it takes a bit of getting used to. Definitely making these to bring out during winter.

Happy Little Scrubbies – Posh Pooch Designs
My daughter would adore these. She’s into all things emoji these days, so I’m going to have to make some for her to keep in her bathroom. Such a fun design!

Caterpillar Scrubby Set – Stitches n’ Scraps
Another fun pattern for the kids. This scrubby set is formed into a caterpillar! They even have handles, which not only makes them adorable, but also functional.

Heart-shaped Dish Scrubby – Spin a Yarn Crochet
These hearts are so sweet! They would be great in a Valentine’s Day gift basket, or even as a gift for Mother’s Day.

Butterfly Scrubby Washcloth – Yarnutopia
First, I love how she explains in the post that even thought the yarn seems abrasive, it becomes softer when wet. When I initially saw this washcloth pattern, I wondered how it would feel used as a washcloth. The pattern is cute and would be a fun one to make for kids!

Simple Square Scrubby Dish Cloth – Stitch11
These square dish cloths make a bold statement. I love the colors that she’s chosen for them, and they are sure to brighten up any kitchen space.

Whoops, looks like I lost count and you ended up with an extra! It’s your lucky day!
